Prof. Alimatul Qibtiyah, S.Ag., M.Si., MA., Ph.D. is a distinguished Professor at the Faculty of Dakwah and Communication, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. As an expert in Gender Studies, she is a prominent voice in the discourse on equality and women's rights in Indonesia. Her dedication to this issue is reflected in her role as a Commissioner at the National Commission on Violence Against Women (Komnas Perempuan) for the January 2020 to March 2025 term. Her expertise is built upon a strong and diverse academic foundation, encompassing various disciplines and international experience.

Prof. Qibtiyah's academic journey demonstrates her global distinction. She earned a Ph.D. in Contemporary Muslim Society from Western Sydney University, Australia, and an M.A. in Women’s Studies from the University of Northern Iowa, USA. She also holds a Master's degree in Social Psychology from Gadjah Mada University and a Bachelor of Religion from IAIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. At her home institution, she has held various leadership positions, including Director of the Center for Women's Studies (2013-2015), Vice Dean for Cooperation and Student Affairs (2016-2017), and Vice Dean for Planning and Finance (2017-2019).

Prof. Qibtiyah's contributions have earned her widespread recognition, including the "Gender Champion DIY 2023" award in the Field of Religion from the Governor of DIY and the "Quality Lecturer of UIN Sunan Kalijaga" award in 2020. She is a prolific author with dozens of books, book chapters, and journal articles published both nationally and internationally. Her global influence is further demonstrated by her active participation as a speaker at various international conferences, including as a delegate at United Nations forums in Geneva and New York.
