Bambang Hariyanto completed his Bachelor's degree with a major in the language in 2003 at the State Islamic University (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, East Java Indonesia. He continued his study at Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia in the Humanities and Cultural Sciences Faculty, majoring in Linguistics in 2006 -2008. Then, Bambang completed his PhD in 2023 from the School of Humanities and Communication Arts at Western Sydney University, Australia.
Bambang has become a Lecturer of Linguistics in the Adab and Cultural Sciences Faculty, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Indonesia since 2010. He has undertaken research methodology courses, such as at Leiden University in 2015, UIN Jakarta in 2016, and many others. He is also active in some academic forums; Masyarakat Linguistik Indonesia (MLI), Masyarakat Pernaskahan Nusantara (MANASA), Linguistik Forensik, and Linguistics and Literature Association (LITA).
