This academic project, "Islam in the Indonesian Archipelago: Society, Group, and Counterterrorism," was initiated by the Al-Mesbar Studies & Research Center, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The book explores Islam in Indonesia and how it has adapted to the socio-political conditions, customs, and local cultures, particularly over the past two decades. This academic inquiry is reflected in the lives of Muslim communities through the various forms of religious expression that have developed in society and in the religious education system within public spaces. Additionally, the book discusses the emergence of various Islamic organizations in Indonesia in relation to issues of nationhood and citizenship, while also highlighting narratives surrounding counterterrorism.
